Life with the Bussis'- 12.16.15

Had another good week over here in the Bussis' household. Although the twins have decided they are done with naps which mommy is just not okay with. The only time they took a nap this past week was when I put one in their room and one in the nursery (we still had the side off the crib). They do okay every once in a while if they don't sleep, but it starts to catch up with them if it's a few days in a row with no nap, so we might just have to separate them every once in a while. Unfortunately we finally put the crib back together on Monday to get ready for the baby, so that's no longer an option. I'm going to see today if I can get one to sleep in my bed, we'll see how that goes. Because more than them needing a nap, this pregnant mamma really needs one today and it's really hard to fall asleep when I hear them bouncing around in their room. :) At least Micah when he doesn't sleep just lays in bed and plays quietly :). But other than naps they continue to be so much fun and really play nice together.
You can't really see it in his hand but one of the workers putting in our new doors gave Jonathan a part that went with the old doorknob and he thought it was a rocket and thinks it's just the coolest toy :)

We ended up right by where Steve's mom works so we decided to pop in and say hi. The boys had to check out her chair :)

Snack time

We went to the mall on Friday for the boys to do some Christmas shopping. They were so good and quick deciders, so they had time to play

Trying to get these boys to stay still for a picture is just impossible

David has decided my big belly makes a great pillow :)

Playing some Wii Sports

We had to set up the sound system at church for a congregational meeting and the boys loved getting to talk into the microphone

Steve told me Sunday morning he had to turn the microphone volume up because it had been set for our boys who decide they need to yell into the microphone. :)

We had a bit of a stressful weekend, so Monday we decided we needed to just go have some fun. So we let the boys skip their naps (since they rarely sleep anyways) and we went bowling as a family (well, they all bowled, I watched :))

Celebrating their success at getting pins down

He's pretty proud that he can throw the ball all by himself

Even blurry, look at that form :)

They watched very intently when it wasn't their turn

These silly boys always want to play in the refrigerated section at Costco. And every time they bump their heads on the metal shelves while trying to climb back there. But does it stop them? NO! :)

They eventually got over it and started hugging each other...

which of course turns into some form of wrestling :)

They were really good in Costco and lucky for them, their mommy was getting hungry, so even thought it was only 10:30 in the morning, we thought we all deserved a berry sundae. :) It is frozen yogurt and strawberries are good for you, and we all split one, so it really wasn't that bad, right? :)

They thought they were so funny putting their socks on their hands instead of their feet

They did yoga this morning in storytime. It was highly entertaining for the parents

And then we came home and I was talking on the phone with my sister and walked in the living room to discover this. I guess there was a few books they wanted to read. :)

Life with the Bussis'- 12.9.15

I can't believe that I just typed the date in the title of this blog of December 9! Oh my goodness, how is it December 9 already?! I feel like the past few months have just flown by. And I don't really see it slowing down anytime soon. Before we know it January 15 will be here and then probably a week later :), the baby will be here! Craziness! But even though time has gone by quickly, I feel like we really haven't done a whole lot. :) We have our normal weekly things, storytime at the library, Bible study, but then we spend a lot of time at home, which we've been doing a lot of baking lately. And they boys have really come to truly enjoy playing together and I have to say, the past couple of weeks while we still have fights and tears, it has gotten so much better! It's so fun to just watch them play or even just listening to them play. They love to chase each other and even though we've had a few bumps, bruises and bloody noses, they get right back up and keep on chasing each other. :) I don't know if I will ever fully understand boys, even after having 3 (maybe 4), they just have to be rough and crazy all the time. :) But they have so much fun doing it, the smiles and giggles that come out of them make me try really hard to shut my mouth and just let them play. :)

I am not a crafty person, so I just had to show you these adorable sock snowmen I made at GEMS, I'm quite proud of them :) and very thankful for a co-leader who is very much crafty so the girls can make cute stuff

Our big event for the week was going to pick out a Christmas tree! The boys are at such a fun age where this is a big deal to them and they loved getting to help pick it out

Watching them tie it up so it's be easier to take home in our van

Putting on ornaments

All decorated!!

Saturday morning I went over to church to practice for Sunday and when I came home I found this, all three just playing nicely together on the couch. It was so cute and made this mommy smile

They love playing with Daddy

Micah didn't want to come with me to the grocery store Monday morning, so Jonathan got to come and while he was not the helper Micah is, he was highly entertaining :)

We finally got the Christmas lights up outside

Remember how I said the bumps and bruises :). So while I was putting up the decorations outside the boys were out there with Steve chasing each other. Steve would run backwards as they tried to catch him and then turn and run. So David decided to try that and was running backwards and turned right into a tree :) But it hasn't slowed him down in the least

My baking assistant. No idea why he made this face :). We were taking a picture to send my Mom to tell her he needed a new apron so he didn't have to wear mommy's (my Mom made him one probably 3 years ago that's a little small now :)) and this was the face I got :)

Cutting out our Christmas cookies. It was so cute, Saturday I was watching The Pioneer Woman and Micah loves to watch it with me. She made these Christmas cookies and Micah told me he really wanted to make them. So we did :). And they turned out really cute, are delicious, and are making great Christmas treats for our Children's librarian, Little Lambs leaders, and anyone else we need to give something to. :)

I did eventually lose my helpers :). Of course, given the fact that David and Jonathan were just getting flour on their hands and then clapping and watching the flour go everywhere, I wasn't too disappointed :)

They did come back to taste test :)

And put the sprinkles on

But yes, they turned out very cute!

And that's all I got. :) Steve and I did get to go out to dinner and to the play "The Christmas Story Musical" on Friday night with friends. It was so nice to catch up with our friends and the play was so cute. It was based on the movie "The Christmas Story" and was just really fun. And then last night I got to go to the Michael W. Smith Christmas concert with the Grand Rapids Symphony with a lady from church. It was awesome!! But unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures :). But I'm guessing you'd rather see pictures of our adorable children than us anyways. :)

Life with the Bussis'- 12.3.15

Not too much to share from this past week. It wasn't so much that we didn't do anything, I just forgot to take any pictures. :)
Like Thanksgiving, this is the only picture I have from that day. :) Can you tell Jonathan is trying not to smile. :)

Friday morning the boys "helped" me put up some Christmas decorations. This is what they thought we were suppose to do with the stockings :)

The boys got to go to Steve's parents house overnight on Friday with their cousin Bentley. Micah and Bentley made gingerbread houses, as you can see the are very proud of them. :)

My boys in blue :)

This was so cute (at least I thought so :)). When they got up from their naps on Sunday David just went and snuggled right up to Micah, so sweet

Jonathan set up a little office for himself

Thankfully Micah wanted to go with me to the store again this week. I'm pretty sure he put 90% of the items in the cart for me

He just loves being my helper. I think he's going to be such a great helper when this baby comes!!

It was pretty cold outside while he was helping me both at the store put the groceries in the van and then at home bringing them in the house, so his reward for helping mommy was a cup of hot chocolate with whip cream on top, as you can see he was pretty excited about that (although he pretty much just at the whip cream on top :))

Making some guacamole. Whenever one helps mommy make something, they all have to help.

So the twins just have not shown any interest in potty training. And seriously, it's time. So we decided to bring out the big guns and I bought 2 Cabbie's from the Planes Fire and Rescue movie, put them where they will see them every day, and told them if they go on the toilet they get to play with them. David was pretty excited about this

As was Jonathan

And it worked for Jonathan. Unfortunately not for David. The rule is if they go on the toilet they get to play with it, if they go in their diaper, it gets taken away. We'll see how this goes. :) Micah was 3 1/2 before he decided it was time to be done with diapers, I was hoping the twins would be sooner, but we shall see. :)

Jonathan told me it was bright in the house :)
Love my silly boys!!!
