Anna's Weekly Update- 2.27.16

And she wasn't happy :)
Weight: 12.3 pounds
Anna had a couple of firsts this week. Her first cold :(, her first fever :(, her first trip to the doctor for something other than a well child check-up :( (thankfully the doctor didn't feel she needed to be admitted to the hospital like they normally do with newborns who have fevers, instead we just kept a close eye on her and when she woke up all stuffed up the next day we knew the fever was connected to the cold her older brothers so graciously gave her).
But amazingly, amidst not feeling well, she also gave us her first smile! :)
Isn't that just the cutest thing!?!
Thankfully her cold isn't too bad and hasn't effected her eating or sleeping at all. And actually I'd say this past week was her least fussy week. She definitely can now focus in on people which might be why she is happier and flashing us cute smiles. She now consistently wakes up only one time a night, between 4 and 5, and then she goes back to sleep till around 8. She also has been going to bed a little earlier, usually between 9:30 and 10pm. So no complaints here in the sleep department. She pretty consistently eats a bottle as soon as she wakes up, is awake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours and then needs a little nap. She continues this routine through the morning and then after her bottle around 1pm she will take a 3-3 1/2 hour nap which is during the time that her brothers also are taking a nap, so I get about an hour and a half of peace and quiet (if I put the twins in separate rooms :)).

She continues to love laying on the changing pad so we often just put it on the kitchen table

We tried our hardest to keep her brothers away from her as they have colds, but it is just so very hard because they just love her so much

The boys found my old phone and discovered that you can still watch the videos on it, so they have been obsessed with it! And they are all from when Micah was a baby and I talk in the most annoying voice on ALL of them so I am quite sick of the phone! :)

She loves bath time!

We had a couple nice days this week so Anna had another first, her first walk outside in the stroller

Can you see how excited she was about it?! :)

They've gotten to watch a lot of videos as they haven't felt very well and Mommy needed to get some things done

At the doctor, she's deep in thought while sleeping :)

Getting to snuggle with Miss Barb so Mommy could get the house ready to be packed

I love all her expressions

Still not feeling the greatest so getting to just sleep on Mommy, who decided those things that need to get done can wait while we snuggle :)

Anna's Weekly Update- 2.21.16

Weight: 11.2 pounds.
Anna is growing nicely. She is sleeping great! Sometimes doing 6-7 hour stretches, other times waking up around 3-4 but then doing another 4 hour stretch. Her awake times, however, have not been going the greatest, especially at night. All of our children have always been pretty fussy at night their first couple of months, we had hoped Anna would be different, she is proving to follow in the footsteps of her brothers. :) So the hours of 6-10pm can be pretty long, but we still love Anna. :) Hoping she doesn't take as long to grow out of this as her brothers did. And very thankful that she is not like this in the middle of the night!

I realized I forgot to put Anna's birth announcement up last week, I just love it! :) If you're ever looking for someone to design your birth announcements or Christmas cards, I highly recommend www.mouwdesign.com! She's a college friend of mine and does a fabulous job!!

Here's some pictures from our week:
Hanging out on the kitchen table on her changing pad :)

Me with my little princess!

Anna got to go shopping with Mommy. As you can see, she was quite unsure about it (and honestly not the biggest fan, she must have her mother's attitude towards shopping :))

Thankfully she slept for a lot of it

Trying out her new swing

David always wants to help with Anna's bottle

Making some cookies. Notice David in the background. He refused to eat his dinner (which was chicken nuggets by the way) and so we told him he couldn't help make or eat the cookies until he finished his dinner. He never did get to eat a cookie :) Silly boy!!

Thankfully despite being fussy most nights, the couple of times we've gone out to dinner she has slept the whole time and been very pleasant!

Poor Anna is never going to know about personal space

Excited the Grandpa and Grandma were coming on the airplane!!!

Waiting at the airport for Grandpa and Grandma's airplane to come in. We parked in the cell phone lot to try to watch their plane come in and somehow missed it :) But thankfully we saw some other planes come in so Micah was happy

Grandpa finally got to meet Anna. Here he is telling Anna all about her cousins, it was so cute :). Once he started telling her about his boats she fell asleep :)

This morning we had the privilege of having Anna baptized. Here she is all pretty in her dress

I had to take the twins back down to my parents during the song because they were trying to go under the communion table and about to go down the steps, they're just a little too comfortable in church, those pastor's kids you know :)

Micah and I sang after Anna's baptism. It was such a joy to get to sing with him! He was completely stuffed up so I wasn't sure how he would do, but he did great! When we sat down he said to me "Mommy, that was so much fun" :). I started singing in church when I was his age so it was so fun for me to get to now sing with him. I have a video of it but it's too long and I don't know yet how to shorten it, if I figure it out I'll have to put it on here.

Anna's Weekly Update- 3 Weeks- 2.14.16

Only took till week 3 for me to be late with an update :) Yesterday was crazy busy, hence this is a day late, but better late than never :)

At her 2 week appointment on Monday she was 10lb 9.5oz (97%) and 21 inches (84%) so she is growing nicely. The doctor said they usually average gaining 1 ounce a day and Anna is averaging 1 1/2 ounces. :) But he said that means she's thriving, not that she's gaining too much, so that was nice to hear. He once again said she's perfect :). She's starting to be able to be more content being happy when awake. We've discovered her favorite place to be when awake is on the floor which just is not always the safest place in our house with her crazy brothers, so she gets to be on the floor while they're watching a video or eating or if I can sit right by her and protect her. :) We just continue to love her to pieces and enjoy having her as part of our family. On the sleeping front she is consistently waking up just one time a night, between 3:30 and 4:30 and then goes right back to sleep and sleeps till between 7:30 and 8:30, so no complaints here! And isn't her dress here just so adorable! :) We took family pictures with Steve's family last night so I found this dress for her on amazon and thought it was just too cute! I thought I wouldn't know what to do with a girl but I have to admit, it's pretty fun to get into this whole girl clothes thing. :)

All wrapped in her swaddle ready for a good night of sleep

Anna does not go very long during the day without one of her brothers in her face :)

I have a charm bracelet Steve gave me last year for Valentine's Day that has the boys birthstones on them and so for this Valentine's Day he gave me a charm with Anna's birthstone. As you can see we have 2 January's, 2 Octobers :). It's nice and symmetric

Anna and I all ready for church last week.

Anna's not ready for football to be done :) Touchdown!!

Micah had his 5 year appointment with Anna's 2 week appointment. We went beforehand to get Anna's birth certificate and we ended up with time to kill, so we went through the Wendy's drive thru and got a frosty. :) Micah also had a very good appointment. He weighed 51 pounds (94%) and was 3'9" (85%).

Micah thinks Anna needs to learn about technology at a young age :)

She wasn't very interested

My silly boys at the grocery store, always an adventure :)

Anna has many facial expressions :)

Even when she's asleep, she has many expressions, but they're all cute :)

She fell asleep while being on the floor :) She absolutely loves being swaddled. If she's getting fussy you usually can just wrap her up in these awesome blankets my sister-in-law got for her and she calms right down.

Micah wanted to feed her

She also really likes hanging out on the changing pad, so sometimes I put it on the kitchen table and one time Micah did this with her giraffe so she could see it easily :)

Good morning!

And goodnight :) (this picture was taken about 60 seconds after the previous one :))

Hanging out on the kitchen table while mommy gets dinner ready :)
