Fun Food Friday- Kid Friendly Ideas- Pizza Crescent Rolls & Breakfast Smoothie

Feeding a 2 year old is always so much fun- not! :) Kids are funny, at least my 2 year old is.  One day he will love something, the next day he doesn't want anything to do with that dish.  So it's nice to have a few things I know he will like every time.  So I thought this week I'd share 2 of those things- pizza crescent rolls and smoothies.

Pizza Crescent Rolls
Ingredients: Can of Crescent Rolls, Mozzarella Cheese, Mini-Pepperonis (I used Turkey), Italian Seasoning, Butter, Grated Parmesan Cheese, Pizza Sauce

Shred the cheese

Open the can of crescent rolls and separate the rolls

Top the rolls with cheese...

Sprinkle with Italian Seasoning...

Add the mini-pepperonis

Roll up the rolls

Place on a baking sheet or a pizza stone works great too

Melt some butter...

and brush over rolls

Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese

Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes

Put on a plate for your little person :)

Don't forget the pizza sauce to dip it in
(Micah is seriously a fan of anything he gets to dip :))

And watch the roll disappear

 This is one satisfied kid

Breakfast Smoothies
The great thing about smoothies is you can make them however you want them.  You can use whatever kind of fruit you like and whatever flavor yogurt you want and whatever kind of juice you want.  Here is how Micah and I prefer our smoothies:

Ingredients: Frozen Strawberries, Peach Yogurt, Vanilla Yogurt, Orange Juice

To a blender add some frozen strawberries.  I like to use frozen fruit because then you don't need to add ice.  I have used fresh strawberries and ice but I just didn't like it as much, so I just stick with frozen strawberries

Add a container of yogurt, I prefer peach...

And some vanilla yogurt...

And some orange juice

Stir it around so the strawberries get coated with orange juice.  I then let it sit for about 5 minutes so the strawberries get softer and blend really well.

Blend until it's nice and smooth

One for Micah...

One for Mommy

And there you go, breakfast in a cup :)

Another great thing about smoothies for breakfast, Micah doesn't need to sit in his high chair to eat it so all three boys can eat at the same time, making for happy boys and a happy mommy!

Week 32

It is getting harder and harder to get these boys to both look at me and smile at the same time:

They were way more interested in trying to grab the sign

Micah thought he needed to take pictures of the boys too :)

The pictures Micah took (minus the 15 pictures I have of the floor :)):

Jonathan (right): 20.3 pounds
David (left): 17.9 pounds

No weight gain for the boys this week.  They are really starting to move around so I'm thinking the weight gain is going to slow down.  Big news this week- David got a tooth!!!  And I wouldn't be surprised if next week I have to tell you both he and Jonathan got a second one, their gums are just bulging all over the place.  It's kind of funny because David got the opposite bottom tooth as Jonathan.  Their sleep has been pretty good, a few naps they didn't think they needed much but they've been sleeping really well at night.  Neither of the twins are all that into tummy time but I'm trying to remember to put them on their stomachs so they will eventually learn to crawl (although I'm hoping it's not for a couple of months because yikes that will be crazy!).  Micah likes to join them when their on their tummies.

He also likes to jump in when I'm taking their pictures :)

Both boys have a great talent- they can stick their toes in their mouths, although they don't do it to show off, they just want to chew on their toes :).  I've been trying to get a picture of it and finally got one of Jonathan
Silly boy

We had a very fun week, my parents came to visit.
The twins loved being able to be held all the time.

On Friday we went to the John Ball Zoo:
All the boys in front of the John Ball Statue

Checking out the Chimpanzees, Micah thought they were hilarious

Micah loved the tree house, as long as Daddy was right there

Lunch time

Micah's favorite part- the cookie

Mom and Dad with their little guys!

Micah discovered how fun it was to ride on Daddy's shoulder

Grandpa trying to teach Micah how to whistle with grass between your thumbs

Sunday night we decided to have a fire after church.  It was lots of fun!

Micah loves throwing the wood into the fire

Monday morning (Memorial Day) we went out to breakfast.

Micah was a big fan of getting to go out

It was so much fun to get to watch Micah play with my parents and understand that they were his grandparents.  Hopefully now he will be able to remember them.  It's no fun having to live thousands of miles apart but it makes you cherish the times you do get to spend together.  Thanks Mom & Dad for coming to visit, we loved it!!!

On the garden front, our beans are really starting to grow!

You may not be able to see it, but we have a few sprouts in our Strawberry pot and look at those tomato plants!!! :)

And that's life around here :)
