Ingredients: Vanilla Ice Cream (I used French vanilla), Oreo Cookies, Butter, Mini Marshmallows, Chocolate Fudge, Cool Whip
The first thing you need to do is make the Oreo crust so first you melt 1/4 cup of butter...
then crush up some Oreos. A food processor makes this very easy
See, all crushed, no pounding necessary. Of course, if you like to pound, just crush your Oreos in a ziplock bag :)
Mix the crushed Oreos and butter together
Then spoon almost all the crush into a 9x13 pan (or Tupperware works great), reserving enough for a garnish on top)
Press down on the crust to make it all stick together
This is where the box of ice cream comes in so handy. Just open up the box and cut the ice cream into slices...
Then place the slices on top of the crust...
Until it's all covered
Next comes the chocolate sauce. Now I used to always use hot fudge and you would need to heat it up to get it to spread and then you would have to put it in the freezer before you moved on to the next steps so the ice cream didn't melt from the heat of the fudge. Then last summer I discovered Smuckers has a jar of Chocolate Fudge that does not have to be heated up. So no need to freeze in between steps!
Spread the fudge all over the ice cream
Top the fudge with some mini-marshmallows
Gently push them down to go into the fudge
Next comes the Cool Whip
Don't want to waste a bite of that yummy Cool Whip
That is one happy boy
Then just sprinkle with the remaining Oreo crust
And that's it!
Look at all that goodness!
Works great as a birthday dessert
No one complained that it wasn't cake :)
So good!
Oreo Ice Cream Dessert

1/4 cup butter, melted
1 box vanilla ice cream (or French vanilla)

Mix together the Oreos and butter. Press into a 9x13 pan (reserving about 1/4 cup for the top). Open up the box of ice cream and cut into slices. Place to slices on top of the crust until all is covered. Spread the fudge over the ice cream. Sprinkle fudge with marshmallows and press into fudge. Top with Cool Whip, sprinkle with remaining Oreos. Store in the freezer. :)
