Ingredients: Chicken Breast, Bread Crumbs. Grated Parmesan Cheese, Olive Oil, Italian Seasoning (if you have plain bread crumbs), Garlic Powder, Minced Onion, Marinara Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese
To a bowl add bread crumbs...
Italian Seasoning (if you have plain breadcrumbs, if you have Italian-style bread crumbs you don't need to add this)...
Grated Parmesan Cheese...
Garlic Powder (and minced onions, forgot to take a picture of that :))
Mix together
Cut the chicken in half
This makes the chicken cook much faster and I feel like then it doesn't get as dried out
Drizzle some olive oil over the chicken...
And rub it into both sides
Then dip the chicken in the bread crumb mixture, completely coating the chicken. Place in a greased 9x13 pan and bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes
To spruce it up :) take the chicken out and place sliced mozzarella cheese on top...
Then top with marinara sauce. Return to oven and bake 5 more minutes or until the cheese is melted
Now, if you want to eat this Chicken Parmesan in all it's glory, go ahead and cook some pasta and add some of that marinara sauce to it. Put that on a plate...
And top with the chicken. Steve will tell you this is just delicious!
If you want to be really healthy :), eat it without the cheese and sauce and instead of eating it with pasta, eat it with a salad. Both ways are very yummy :)
Chicken Parmesan
1/2 cup Italian Style Bread Crumbs (or plain bread crumbs with Italian Seasoning added to it)
2 TBS Grated Parmesan Cheese
2 tsp Garlic Powder
2 tsp Minced Onions
3 Chicken Breasts, sliced in half
Olive Oil
Marinara Sauce
Mozzarella Cheese Slices
Combine the first 4 ingredients. Rub olive oil over the chicken pieces and dip into bread crumb mixture, coating. Place in a greased 9x13 pan and bake at 375 for 30 minutes. Remove pan from oven and top chicken with cheese slices and sauce. Return to oven for 5 more minutes. Serve with pasta and marinara sauce.
