My mom used to make this dish when I was a kid and I loved it. So I decided to make it, but to amp it up a bit. So I make the meat mixture like I make our hamburgers, mixing them with seasoning and Worcestershire sauce, and I add bacon, you can never go wrong adding bacon, right? :) It's quickly become one of our family's favorite, so I thought I'd share it with you. Enjoy!
Ingredients: Milk, Bisquick, Ground Beef, Cheese, Worcestershire Sauce, Steak Seasoning, Bacon, Onion, Eggs, Tomato
Dice up a small onion
Grill the onion in a little butter
To a small bowl add the ground beef
Then add 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce...
And some steak seasoning (if you don't have steak seasoning you can just add salt & pepper)
Using your hands smash together...
Until all combined
Then just add the meat mixture to the onions..
And cook until the meat is all browned
Add the bacon (if your bacon is not previously cooked you can cook it along with the meat)
Drain the meat...
Add pour into the bottom of a greased pie dish
Cover the meat with cheese
Then mix together 1 cup of milk...
1/2 cup of Bisquick
And 2 eggs
Stir until all combined
Then just pour that over the cheese
Give it a minute to soak down into the meat mixture. Then bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when put in the middle
While it's baking diced up a tomato to put on top
All cooked and ready to devour!
Put it on a plate, top with tomatoes and you are good to go
Jonathan was a fan
As was David :)
And Micah, well, Micah likes anything with the word pie in it :)
Bacon Cheeseburger Pie
1 small onion, diced
1 pound ground beef
1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce
Steak Seasoning (or salt & pepper)
6 slices of bacon, cooked and cut up
1 1/2 cup cheese, grated (I use Colby-Jack but you can use whatever you would put on a hamburger)
1 cup milk1/2 Bisquick
2 eggs
1 tomato, diced
In a hot skillet grill the onion in some butter. In a bowl combine the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce and seasoning. Add to the onion and cook until meat is browned, add the bacon. Drain the meat and pour into the bottom of a greased pie dish. Top with cheese. Mix together the milk, Bisquick and eggs. Pour over the top of the cheese and let it settle into the meat mixture. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the middle. Top with tomato.
